I use Yahoo for home page. Recently I have to put in my zip code for local news and weather. Can I fix this?

I have always been able to pull up local news and local weather on the Yahoo home page, but for the last two days I have had to type in my zip code or city and state. I even made Google my home page and then switched back to Yahoo to see if this would result in my city becoming permanent without me having to put in the info each time. Any suggestions?
