During the summer, land will heat up during the day faster than the sea. As hot air rises, there will be wind blowing from the sea towards the land.





(2) Mountains can affect rain.


High mountain ranges will usually have one side that is very wet and one that is very dry. The best example is the Himalaya - the Southern side is very wet. All the moisture in the air is forced up and condenses before it can cross the mountains. On the Northern side, in Tibet, there is no moisture left and therefore there is no rain.
