I heard google and yahoo could send txt messages to your mobile phone about weather, sports, ect.?

all you do is send a txt like pittsburgh baseball score or somethin like that to some number and they would send back the information. is that true? does anyone kno what i'm talkin about.|||For yahoo it is called Yahoo alerts http://alerts.yahoo.com/|||I have that service through my carrier; Midwest Wireless... If nothing else, google it.
