What is a black hole as it relates to weather?

My mom was in a medical helicopter that crashed (N417AE, if you are interested). They say the cause of the accident was their encounter with a 'black hole' in the weather. A quick Google reveals no such term as it relates to weather. Could someone perhaps enlighten me?|||A black hole in weather is when the air in a certain section of the atmosphere where there is no flow of air or wind, its like a dead space in the atmosphere.
