How do I keep my Google homepage gadgets?

I have Google as my homepage with helpful tools (weather channel, cnn.com...) After I shut down computer for night, the next day all the stuff is gone %26amp; I have to redo it all over again. What's wrong?|||Google forced an update on everyone. That's just evil behavior, similar to spyware behavior.
